Spring is in the air at Kimo Estate, You’ll love it!

Spring really is a wonderful time to visit our beautiful region!

There’s something magical about spring in the Riverina. At Kimo Estate, this season feels like the land itself exhales. The hills wake from their winter slumber, the skies take on a new brightness, and everything from the canola fields to the birdsong seems infused with energy and colour. Spring is a time of renewal, and there’s no better place to soak it all in than right here in Gundagai.

🌼 Hot Air Ballooning or a Scenic Drive

There’s no sight quite like the golden patchwork of canola fields in spring, especially when seen from above. Local hot air balloon rides (available through nearby operators) offer a gentle, unforgettable experience as you float over the Murrumbidgee Valley at sunrise. If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, a simple drive through the region will still take your breath away—lush green hills, golden paddocks, and big blue skies.

Our pre-mapped Strava walks at Kimo Estate guide you through peaceful valleys, native bushland, and high ridgelines with sweeping views. Spring is the perfect time to lace up your boots—the sun is warm but not punishing, the creeks are running, and wildflowers are in bloom. Our walking trails are designed to suit different fitness levels, and you might even spot some lambs frolicking or a wedge-tailed eagle soaring above.

There’s a peaceful rhythm to spring days at Kimo Estate. Mornings are cool and clear—the perfect time for a cup of coffee on the deck of your Eco Hut. By day, explore or nap, read or wander. At night, slip into the hot tub as the sky turns shades of peach and violet. Our accommodation—be it the off-grid Eco Huts, restored Shearers Quarters, or heritage Cottages—offers warmth, comfort, and quiet in equal measure. The wood fires are still welcome companions at night, and the views out over the landscape are ever-changing.
