How to light the hot tubs

(Apr-Oct)

(Summer is very different so please read the summer instructions in Nov-March)

It’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with the unit as they can be more an art form than a science.

Lighting The Tub

To light the tub there is a small drawer built into the side of the tub.

Open the wing nuts and light one of the fire lighters, leaving the burnt match in there.

Close the drawer and screw the wing nuts on as you found it.

Once fire is lit DO NOT OPEN THIS DRAWER from this point on

Load logs in from the top.

4-5 to get it going

After 30-40 minutes assess the fire and temperature of the tubs

add wood if more temperature required, close air vent if getting too hot.

NOTE: If you want to use the tubs in the morning keep the firebox going overnight do NOT attempt to re-light it yourself.

If you are checking out that day please

DO NOT PUT MORE WOOD IN THE FIRE BOX PAST 6AM

as the fire will be too hot for our staff to handle upon checkout.

Couple of Video’s that may help

Summer is very different so PLEASE READ the SUMMER INSTRUCTIONS carefully if the grass is dry and brown around you.

FIRE is a RISK from NOVEMBER – MARCH

at these times, please carefully read the instructions below.

Can I light the Hot Tubs in Summer?

In summer we do not tend to light the tubs if it is hot as guests use it for a cool plunge pool. However if fire conditions suit we are happy for you to light the tubs after calling us to check.

Please call 1300618461 if you want to light the tub and to check if theres a fire ban.

When allowable the instructions are similar to the above instructions however

In Summer

DO NOT OPEN THE FIRE DRAWER – EVER after it is lit

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RELIGHT

DO NOT REMOVE ASH

Tips that will definately help

If the fire is roaring and the water is nearly hot enough then it’s time to close down the air intake on the drawer. It’s too late if it’s perfect. If it’s not warm enough and the fire seems to have slowed maybe chuck another couple on but be aware it’s very easy to go past the right temperature.

Use the little air hole winder on the fire box below. Open = more air = hotter, closed = less air = cooler
